High thermal conductive plastic is a compound of plastic matrix filled with high thermal conductive fiber powder. This compound is lightweight, netshape moldable and allows design freedom in applications previously restricted to metals. LED cups or sinks made of this compound transfer heat mainly by infrared radiation.
This fiber powder is called Highthermcon which is specially designed for typical thermal management applications. These materials are used in applications where high performance and maximum weight reduction must be combined. Thanks to ultra-high longitudinal thermal conductivity, Highthermcon fiber demonstrates 2 to 3 times the performance of copper, and 4 to 5 times the performance of aluminum.
Based on the special properties of Highthermcon, LED cups or sinks can be designed with different thermal conductivity and different thermal conductive directions. Thanks to these unique properties, we can apply these cups or sinks into where special requirement is needed.
